Award recognizes agency website search engine optimization

ST. CHARLES, Ill. (Sept. 13, 2012) – Cooper Hong Inc., a full-service integrated marketing communications and public relations firm headquartered in St. Charles, Ill., has earned a 2012 PR Daily Award in the Best Use of Search Engine Optimization category. The agency also received an honorable mention in the Best Event Marketing category. Winners of the 2012 PR Daily awards were announced yesterday during an awards ceremony presented by Ragan Communications and Dow Jones in Washington, D.C.

The PR Daily Awards program was launched to celebrate talent in the public relations industry. Open to private companies, government communicators and non-governmental organizations, the competition received hundreds of entries for outstanding projects completed in 2011, in categories spanning traditional, cause-related, crisis-related, event and social media campaigns.

“In a field that included many global businesses, including some of the world’s largest public relations agencies, Cooper Hong Inc. is proud to have earned recognition for Best Use of SEO and Best Event Marketing,” said Jane Cooper, president of CHI, who traveled to the Newseum in Washington, D.C., for the awards ceremony.

For the Best Use of SEO award, PR Daily recognized Cooper Hong Inc. for the agency’s own search engine-optimized website, which increased web rankings and online visibility through the use of comprehensive keyword research, optimized metadata, SEO copywriting and SEO best practices.

“We know that awards do not necessarily translate into sales, but they do validate that our public relations agency puts best practices to work for ourselves and our clients. Within two months of the launch of our new website, CHI’s web rankings and online presence improved dramatically, with 28 of our keywords moving into the top 20 on Google,” said Cooper. “We went from invisible to visible in just a few short months, and we can help clients do the same.”

CHI also received an honorable mention in the Best Event Marketing category for the agency’s support surrounding the grand opening of the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Aurora, Ill. CHI donated hundreds of hours of time and expertise leading up to the event.

“We helped recruit donations and in-kind support from local newspapers, a restaurant and a radio station, as well as the participation of local dignitaries,” Cooper said. “These efforts resulted in pre-event, onsite and post-event publicity that brought a record-breaking 1,000-plus visitors to the ReStore in Aurora and nearly tripled the location’s one-day sales numbers.”

The PR Daily Awards are presented by Ragan Communications and its public relations news website, PRDaily.com, the leading international online news site in the industry.
