Add Images to LinkedIn and Twitter Profiles

The changes are designed to help users better customize their profiles. For companies, Twitter and LinkedIn will offer better branding opportunities.


LinkedIn and Twitter now let you add a custom image to your profile and company pages. These social media networks are offering new branding options to enable companies to share more about their businesses with customers and prospects.

If you are a LinkedIn administrator, you should see directions for uploading an image when you visit your company's home page. Clicking the blue "Edit" button also provides the option to upload an image. Images can be cropped to 646 x 220. Be sure to also visit your company's product page. Recent changes here allow you to upload images for a slide show to highlight individual products/services. Follow the provided directions.

On Twitter, you can upload images on the "Design" option under "Settings." Recommended dimensions are 1200 x 600, however you are able to resize your image if needed in the image uploader window.

The white text and avatar that appear over the image are pulled from your Twitter profile information. You don't have any control over the text color or positioning, so you many have to play around a bit to find and image that works well so the text displays clearly.

Images Add Personality to Your Profiles

Previously, LinkedIn has been sterile and uninviting. These new image options add personality and branding to your social media profiles and allow you to breathe new life into your company pages.
