NORCROSS, Ga. (March 31, 2015) – Hyundai Forklift, a leading material handling equipment manufacturer, today introduced an interactive instrument cluster system for the 9 Series diesel forklift trucks. Available as standard equipment, the 5.6-in wide screen color LCD monitor informs the operator of changing conditions on the jobsite – including speed, travel direction and battery discharge – allowing the operator to control the machine with greater ease.

For improved productivity and safety, an industry-exclusive truck inclination warning system monitors and indicates forward/backward and right/left degree of the forklift, and sounds an alarm when the driver is outside the degree of ISO safe driving regulations. The instrument cluster system also supports an optional integrated rear-view camera for increased visibility to personnel, racking or other obstacles behind the forklift truck.

“The new interactive instrument cluster system monitors all truck functions and helps the operator safely and efficiently manage the material handling process,” said Tim Webb, manager of product development, Hyundai Forklift.

Advanced safety and control systems

The new instrument cluster includes several advanced safety and control systems, including a speed limit system, engine start limitation, direction change shock reduction system and load indicator system.

With the speed limit system, the maximum speed can be entered through the display, and the display indicates when the truck has reached the set speed. For added theft prevention, the password-activated engine start limitation prevents directional travel if an incorrect password is entered.

The direction change shock reduction system allows the operator to shift transmission without braking. The load indicator system displays the weight being lifted based on hydraulic pressure and sounds an alarm when capacity limits have been reached.

Hyundai’s high-performance, fuel-efficient diesel forklift trucks are designed to move large, heavy material such as timber, lumber, containers, concrete products, and steel products. The diesel line offers durability through a heavy-duty single-unit frame, superior cooling system, full automatic transmission and a spilt-type drive axle.
