CHI Open House Event

As a young but growing marketing communications agency in the Fox Valley area of Chicago, CHI wanted to show gratitude to clients, supplier-partners and friends in the community for their business and support during the agency’s fourth year in business – and do so in a unique and memorable way. And, because giving back to the local community is part of the agency’s philosophy, CHI also wanted to take the opportunity to raise awareness and contributions for people who need it the most.

The corporate event management team at CHI developed and executed the plan for a catered open house reception and food and funds drive event, hosted at the agency’s office in St. Charles.

CHI supports a variety of local organizations and charities in the Fox Valley area throughout the year, including the Northern Illinois Food Bank, a non-profit organization that provides food to people in need through its 665 partner agencies in 13 counties in Illinois. Lending support to Northern Illinois Food Bank to help narrow the gap between poverty and prosperity in the local community as part of the open house reception was a no-brainer for CHI.

The CHI team created materials designed to pique the interest of invited guests, including print and electronic invitations. Guests were encouraged to make a donation to help hard-working but less fortunate members of the community who are in need of food.

More than 50 clients, vendors, business colleagues and other friends from the community attended the open house event and made very generous donations to the Northern Illinois Food Bank. CHI facilitated a total donation of $1,225 and 286 pounds of non-perishable food items to the organization. The financial donation alone provided meals for 7,500 people.
