Challenge

Vactor Manufacturing was introducing a new, smaller version of its successful HXX HydroExcavator, the HXX Prodigy. They needed to get the word out to prospective customers.

Solution

CHI recommended targeting current customers and people who were planning to attend the Underground Construction Technology show with information about the Prodigy and an incentive to visit the Vactor booth at the show. The dimensional mailer contained a key, attached to a Vactor HXX Prodigy key fob. Visitors to the show could try their key for a chance to win an HXX Prodigy jacket. People were lined up at the booth to check their keys, and three jackets were awarded of a possible six, indicating a very high response rate on the program overall. The client was so pleased with the results that they let CHI create a similar campaign for another tradeshow.
